Cloud Computing, Simple Intro.

It’s the delivery of computing as a service, rather than a product. Most of us have a PC or laptop  at home. But also, all of us suffer from the cost of working on such PCs, ranging from hardware high costs to software licenses and even power supply. Imagine if you have a company that manages all its tasks through computers, these problems appear to be annoying. The new concept of Cloud describes the delivery of computing as a service rather than a product. That is you don’t have to have a PC to accomplish your tasks, you don’t have to buy expensive hardware for single-use time. But how !. The cloud allows you to log in to shared resources and pay for only your usage.

Business Applications are very complicated and expensive. One needs a whole team to install, configure, run and update them. Suppose a large company that uses many of these applications, can you imagine the efforts done to run the system ?!. For sure, large and small organizations faces this problem. Sometimes it may cause the whole business to fail! Using Cloud Computing eliminates those headaches, because you are not managing hardware and software. It’s the responsibility of experienced vendors. This provides you with a cheap and an easy way to start your business. Just plan for your idea, get the service and you are there achieving your goal.

For an enterprise, instead of managing multiple software licenses for applications in all departments, the same functions can be provided through a hosted service from a SaaS provider. Cloud provides hosted services for HR, Finance, Manufacturing and development tools using web browser.

Provides the main computing, storage and network infrastructure. That is I can load my own software such as operating systems, web services databases and whatever the software is.

Unlike the fixed services of SaaS, users can build their own applications and host them on the PaaS providers.

Microsoft Cloud Computing

Microsoft Cloud Computing has two categories: Microsoft Public Cloud Computing and Microsoft Private Cloud Computing.

For the Public Cloud Computing, it’s divided into two categories: productivity which targets to help users get connected and share documents wherever they are without constrains of time and distance. This category uses Microsoft Office 365. The other category is the Application one. It uses Windows Azure as an operating system especially made for Cloud. Using Windows Azure, customers can use applications that have been used without having to learn new technologies.

Microsoft Private Cloud Computing  targets large companies where they can build their own cloud computing which can be accessed by their branch or their stakeholders.
